Civil War Hard Tack & WW I Hardtack Army Bread Crackers

"There's a hungry, thirsty soldier
Who wears his life away,
With torn clothes, whose better days are o'er
He is sighing now for whiskey
And, with throat as dry as hay,
Sings, "Hard crackers, hard crackers, Come again no more."
Now you can try the same hard bread crackers that were used in the Civil War through WW I as rations for the Union and Confederate Armies and on through WW I! You get 20 pieces of hardtack in your choice of the small WW I size or the larger Civil War size which was carried in the haversack. We love this stuff! It makes a nice snack but just remember we are not responsible for your dental work when chewing these! Chew at your own risk and slowly! If you have any dental work whatsoever do not eat them! Makes a great gift for the reenactor or Civil War or WW I enthusiast or collector. With air tight storage they should last for about a year although during the Spanish American War there were reports in 1898 of hardtack dated 1865 still being issued! Take a careful bite and get an idea of just how hard it was to chew your way through the meal of the average soldier with these "Teeth Dullers"! Thanks for shopping with us!
